Vivtrol
Vivitrol is a 4-week FDA-approved IM injection to treat opioid use disorder in patients who have at least 5 opioid-free days and have tolerated at least one dose of oral naltrexone if not already on Vivtrol when you get to us. It can be prescribed after seeing one of our medical providers. The injection would be given by a Morse Clinic nurse into the buttock of your choice. The medicine may or may not require prior authorization. Patients getting Vivitrol at the Morse Clinics do need to provide urine drug tests and see their counselor at the OTP.
If you have Medicaid or Medicare that we contract with, your services may be at no cost to you. If you have other insurance that we do not contract with or no insurance, the cost is $250/month plus the cost of the medicine (about $1200) or your copay which may vary with your insurance at the pharmacy of your choice. You would need to pay the $250 in advance. You could easily switch to methadone or the sublingual buprenorphine in our OTP seamlessly in our OTP after seeing one of our medical providers again.
